Naomi set up Highgate Pilates in May 2012.  Following her 10 year career as a secondary school teacher and Head of Year, she took a career break after having her children and decided to retrain as a Pilates instructor to combine her love of Pilates with her teaching skills.  She is qualified with Bodycontrol® which is Europe’s principal professional body for Pilates teachers and is widely seen as a benchmark for safe and effective teaching of the highest quality.  For more information please visit http://www.bodycontrolpilates.com.  Naomi has also attained Level 3 of the UK Register of Exercise Professionals.

Pilates is a complete exercise method that targets the deep postural muscles, building strength from inside out.  It rebalances the body bringing it into correct alignment whilst improving flexibility and posture,  reshaping your figure to become longer, leaner and more toned.  Whilst Pilates will energize you, Naomi’s classes will help you feel calm and achieve a sense of well being.

Naomi attends courses regularly to enable her to adapt her classes to the varying needs of her clients. This includes Pregnancy and Post Natal, Older Persons, Intermediate and various small equipment such as the Foam Roller, Toning Circle and Band. She is also a BarreConcept® teacher.

BarreConcept 

This unique fun workout to music combines the elements of Pilates, yoga, resistance training and ballet into a highly effective regime performed on the mat and at a ballet barre. The technique utilises the body’s own resistance in conjunction with weights, bands and small balls. The effect is a long, lean dancers body without being a dancer!  The low impact, total body workout lifts the butt, tones the thighs, flattens the abs and sculpts the arms, whilst protecting the joints. Small isometric contractions are performed and integrated with an interval training approach that burns fat and improves cardiovascular fitness.
