Naomi Bourne

Naomi is the owner of Highgate Pilates & teaches pure mat based Pilates to all levels as well as BarreConcept classes. See the Highgate Pilates page for more info about Naomi.

Sandra Canty

Sandra is a very experienced BodyControl Pilates teacher in mat & studio equipment and a BarreConcept teacher. She is a also a supervising teacher for BodyControl. Sandra teaches Intermediate & Beginner + on Mondays.

Samantha Flower

Samantha qualified as a Pilates Instructor under the tutelage of the legendary Alan Herdman.This initial training focused strongly on remedial work and injury prevention. She has since trained with Karen Clippinger and Kelly McKinnon in advanced machine, small equipment and mat work. Samantha’s extensive, ongoing training with James D’Silva includes the full Garuda® repertoire of machine, mat, barre and roller work. With over 20 years of experience in Pilates and yoga, Samantha is still as passionate about learning and teaching the technique as when she started. She is really excited to be teaching Pilates at Highgate Pilates & is teaching at the Highgate Pilates studio on Monday and Tuesday evening, and on Wednesday at 9:30am at Lauderdale House.

Marla Ezer

Marla has been in the fitness industry for 24 years and teaching Pilates for the last 10.  She qualified with Polestar, and more recently with Body Control *but also loves practicing Yoga in her spare time. “I really love teaching & my classes for Highgate Pilates will progress & challenge you.”

Marla teaches on Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening and Friday morning at the Highgate Pilates studio.

Olivia Guest

“What I love most about Pilates is that it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your core muscles or tone your body, improve your posture, to rehabilitate after an injury, optimising your movement patterns so you can get the most out of your body or even just a space for mindfulness and relaxation, Pilates is for you. I want to bring the benefits of Pilates to as many people as possible because it just makes sense!  I believe that Pilates enables you to live life that much better so my classes are designed to get you moving properly while offering a fun and challenging workout for the body as well as the mind”.

Olivia teaches a gentle beginners class on Monday 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Vicky Ford

As part of her professional dance training, Pilates was a weekly class for Vicky so it seemed a natural progression from dancing to decide to retrain as a Pilates teacher in 2010. Vicky trained with BodyControl Pilates and every year attends workshops and courses to keep up to date with her learning, most recently qualifying as a reformer teacher. She is very excited to join the Highgate Pilates team and looks forward to meeting her new clients for her beginners class.

Vicky teaches two beginner classes at The Highgate Society, on Thursday 8:30am to 9:30am and on Friday 9am to 10am.  She also teaches an Intermediate Pilates class on Monday afternoon at 1:30pm and a Dance/Barre class on Thursdays at 2pm.

Julie Driver

Julie is a Master Mat Work and Apparatus Teacher who has been studying Pilates for over 16 years. Julie has been a senior member of the Body Control Pilates (BCP) teacher training team since 2008 and in 2014 she won the prestigious international Pilates Anytime “Instructor of the year” competition. The following year she returned to the competition, but this time as a distinguished judge.  In 2016 Julie was invited to join the board of the UK Chapter of the Pilates Method Alliance.  As well as practicing Pilates, Julie also writes articles on Pilates and has recently been featured in Pilates Style, Chicago Tribune, Makeover Monday and Teen Girl.

Julie teaches an Advanced Class for teachers and advanced clients on Thursday afternoon, 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

Yiota Theo

Yiota is a professional dancer and dance instructor.  She was awarded a full scholarship to the Northern Ballet School in Manchester.  Since graduating she has worked solidly in a variety of areas – television, live events and music videos.  She reached the semi-finals of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ with ‘Bollywood Fusion’, and is a dancer with ‘Infinity8’ which is a commercial dance company.

Yiota has been teaching contemporary and street dance at the Ruth Elizabeth Orr School of Dance, and will be teaching a two hour after school contemporary and commercial dance class aimed at 11 to 14 year olds every Thursday.

Erika Charters

Yoga is important aspect of Erika’s life, with a background of training in Dance and Pilates movement has always been a central focus to her life. The ancient science of Yoga has offered the techniques and space to marry movement, breath and mindfulness into one practice. Classes are offered in a Vinyasa style of traditional Raja Dhiraja Yoga to not only work on alignment, strength and flexibility but also to balance the nervous and endocrine system to help leave you feeling relaxed and revitalised.

Erika will be teaching the Wednesday yoga class from 4th October, 2017.
