About Naomi
Naomi set up Highgate Pilates in 2012 following a 10-year career as a secondary school teacher. After a career break bringing up her young children, she decided to retrain to combine her love of Pilates and her teaching skills.
Naomi credits Pilates with transforming her own body and reversing the kyphosis she had developed in her spine in her teenage years. Now, Pilates has become an important part of her everyday life. It allows her to maintain good posture, and stay physically strong, supple, and injury free. In short, she feels Pilates allows her to age gracefully!
Naomi qualified with Bodycontrol®, Europe’s largest professional Pilates organisation. She holds a Level 3 qualification from the UK Register of Exercise Professionals and is a qualified BarreConcept® teacher.
I cannot thank you enough for all the help you’ve given me and how you’ve transformed my body. L. Wimmer
Pilates
Pilates is a complete mind and body exercise method for everyone regardless of age and level of fitness. You are never too old to start. It targets the deep postural muscles, building strength from the inside out. It rebalances the body bringing it into correct alignment whilst improving flexibility and posture, reshaping your figure to become longer, leaner and more toned. Pilates is an intelligent exercise that helps you understand your body. It is practised by many athletes as it is complementary to other sport and exercise. It is endorsed widely by medical specialists as a method of rehabilitation.
All our instructors have qualified with either Bodycontrol® or Alan Herdman®, ensuring safe and effective teaching of the highest quality. We attend courses regularly to enable us to adapt our classes to the varying needs of our clients. Between us we are qualified to teach pregnancy, post-natal, clients with osteoporosis, clients needing rehabilitation, older people and teenagers.
